Oak View Law Group (OVLG) was founded in 2007. Since then, they claim to have provided services to almost 7000 consumers.

According to their website, they offer the following services:

There are numerous testimonials on ovlg.com, but as many companies in the page has been accused of falsifying testimonials, we always recommend checking other sources. Consumer feedback on trustlink.org echoes the same thing (147 reviews). To conclude, consumer reviews on OVLG are basically good.

You should note that ovlg.com lacks debt calculators and budgeting tools, which can be quite inconvenient. Delayed response is another allegation that OVLG faces.

Overall, OVLG seems to be a reputable debt relief law firm.

Total Debt Relief AKA TotalDebtRelief.net is a company that focuses on debt settlement, bankruptcy, consolidation and credit counseling that opened in 2010. There is quite a bit of educational information on the website that include a blog.

This company currently doesn’t have a Better Business Bureau rating because there isn’t sufficient information to give it a review yet. The odd part about trying to find out more about his business is that there is not location on the website contact us page. I had to resort to matching the phone number on the website with its BBB page. This seems sketchy to me especially considering there is no About Us information talking about the companies specialties. I guess they may be too young to know what their best options are.

DebtHelper.Com AKA Credit Card Management Services is a non-profit housing and credit counseling organization that opened in 1996. It is focused on delivering financial education and solutions to its clients. They seem to be interested in getting people into affordable homes and having reasonable budgets rather than primarily on financial.

This company has an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. It seems that its age and the fact it has only had 4 complaints that have all been resolved helps the grade.

Horizon Debt Group LLC is a debt assistance program that opened in 2009. It claims to work with a national law firm that will help clients with ‘financial workouts’ with creditors. One of its websites even offers a guarantee to lower your debt by 35% of what you owe.

The Better Business Bureau has giving this business an A- but only because it hasn’t been open very long. It doesn’t appear to have any complaints as of yet either. However, you should know that it owns about 5 different websites including:

Legal Help Debt Resolution, LLC Review

Legal Helpers Debt Resolutions AKA Macey, Aleman, Hyslip & Searns law firm opened in 2009 and is a group of lawyers that help clients out of debt. They claim that bankruptcy isn’t their only option.

The business looks very legitimate from their well-written and easy to use website. However, their Better Business Bureau rating is an F. Apparently they have 50 complaints mostly in the Refund Issues section. There is also a new Government Action against the company. It is in regards to the fact that almost all of their debt settlements are done by a third party and not by the lawyers at the firms itself.

I would think twice about using this company since they appear to be just a front for other businesses and they are not up-front about that fact.

Christian Debt Consolidation Review

Christian Debt Consolidation is a non-profit focused on helping their clients out of debt.

Their Better Business Bureau profile is currently under review. If you check TrustLink, the company BBB uses to review some companies, it appears that this company is well on its way to an F. All of the reviews talk about the fact that they paid for months and then found out that they were either more in debt and debts had to be settled with lawsuits or both. Many of the comments also mentioned that the company has bad customer service saying that “christian” was just gimmick.

I would wait until the BBB comes back with an official rating but until then I don’t recommend it.

Debt Relief Center Review

Debt Relief Center appears to be a company that connects people in debt with companies that can help them either settle or manage the debt. This is actually what most debt settlement companies do but it is rare that you have a company explain it to you.

Their website is a bit hard to navigate as most of the pages I was looking for have links at the bottom rather than the top. There isn’t much information out there for this company.

The Better Business Bureau has given the company an F because of a lack of information. It also says that the business doesn’t meet the new California laws.

Direct Relief Options Review

Direct Relief Options isn’t a company I can verify at all. I can find their website that says they are also known as DRO or DR Options but they don’t have a Better Business Bureau profile. I could also not find other reviews of the company anywhere.

Looking at the bottom of their website you can see that they are based in Frisco, Texas. I did a Google search for their address and found another debt company in the same building called DebtXS. There is a connection through a corporation wiki through a person named Ken Talbert. That person is connected to 3 debt management companies and 1 marketing company. I believe this might be a lead generation site for the other two debt companies.

The website says that they do debt settlement aka debt negotiation for clients with $10,000 in unsecured debt. They do a very good explanation of the process. However, they do not explain how their process is different then their competitors.

If you find more information about Debt Relief Option or have worked with them in the past please share you experience.

Discount Debt Solutions

Discount Debt Solutions is a debt counseling program that provides people with a discount solution to becoming debt free as well as educates them in the benefits of debt counseling. It appears that they work with the army and military to provide debt help to people with military and services ties.

Currently, their Better Business Bureau page is under review due to industry changes recently implemented by the FTC. It’s important to note that they are currently unable to service residents of at least 16 states at this time, so be sure to check this information before deciding to work with this company. A couple of links on their site seem to be down, including the credit correction tab. While they do provide a FAQ, they don’t go into much detail on how their services work. Discount Debt Solutions also has a “links” tab that directs to other debt solutions that they are partnered with. I’m unsure if they are operating as a front end counseling program that outsources their work to these partners, but it seems rather strange to have these links otherwise. Transparency is extremely important in debt relief, and I am unsure how this company runs business.
